Literary meetings

Afrolitt’ regularly organizes literary meetings around preselected and announced books. These meetings vary according to collaborations and are always open to new ventures. They consist of book discussions around a specific theme, literary cycles in collaboration with libraries or other institutional partners, as well as more punctual meetings around a specific book pick.

Where to find the books?

Check out your public library if the books are available. If not, you can suggest they buy them to augment their collection.
If you are based in Geneva or Lausanne (Switzerland), Afrolitt’ recommends two independent bookstores: La Dispersion (Plainpalais) and Basta (Chaudron). Books discussed are available at both and can be ordered if not in store. Delivery time can range from a few days to a few weeks depending on availability. Payment is usually done on site.
If you are anywhere else, Afrolitt’ recommend any physical library at proximity. If you cannot go onsite to pick up your books, many stores have delivery options. Payment is usually done on site, by bill or online depending on the option you choose.
Many online ordering platforms exists. Most of them require online payment.
Some books can also be read in Kindle/e-Books format. Feel free to go according to your preference.

J'ai eu l'opportunité de collaborer avec Pamela Ohene-Nyako dans le cadre d'un cycle de rencontres littéraires intitulé "Lisez Afrofuturiste!", programmé dans une bibliothèque de quartier à Lausanne. Madame Ohene-Nyako a fait preuve d'un grand professionnalisme et son expertise en littérature africaine et de la diaspora noire nous a permis d'organiser trois rencontres d'une extrême qualité autour de romans d'autrices afrodescendantes, inscrits dans le genre du futurisme africain et de l'afro-fantaisie. Au-delà de ses compétences, Pamela Ohene-Nyako est une personne avec qui j'ai eu plaisir à collaborer en raison de son attitude positive, de sa capacité à partager ses connaissances et à contribuer à créer un environnement de travail propice à l'échange. Pour toutes ces raisons, je recommande vivement Madame Ohene-Nyako pour toute opportunité professionnelle ou académique.
