Workshops and consulting

Pamela and Afrolitt’ were carefully sought out by the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Anti-racism (I-DEA) team at the International Schools of Geneva on several occasions since 2020 to bring a crucial perspective to students on Anti-Black racism in Switzerland. With her research, Pamela helped educate year 9 students in 2021 and continued to contribute to dialogue in 2022. A personal highlight for me as the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Anti-Racism lead was to host Pamela during a webinar on “Social Justice as a Personal Responsibility » where Pamela talked to our entire community about her personal story and tools that help her in her work and personal journey. Thank you Afrolitt’ and thank you Pamela for your important work. 

The Think Tank Gender & Diversity was very pleased when Pamela agreed in 2021 to become a member of our advisory board and share her profound expertise on anti-black racism with the Forum of Swiss Higher Education Institutions. We highly appreciate her constructive and innovative ideas, which she has brought to the discussions of the Think Tank ever since. In particular, we would like to highlight Pamela's most valuable contribution to the conception of our two-day event on dealing with institutionalized racism in higher education in Switzerland, and of course especially the workshop that she designed and conducted together with Rahel El-Maawi in May 2023. Their workshop "How does racism-critical higher education development look like in practice?" was enormously instructive, the interactive formats invited lively discussions and concrete approaches, and the feedback from the participating diversity officers was thoroughly positive. Accordingly, we are very pleased that Pamela will also be actively involved in the conception of the final conference of the Forum in 2024 and thank her for her important work.
